Nissan Rogue (T33) 2021-Present Owner’s Manual & User Guide: Maintenance precautions
When working on the Nissan Rogue, follow these precautions to avoid personal injury or vehicle damage.
WARNING
- Park on level ground, apply the parking brake and block the wheels. Shift to P (Park).
- Ensure the ignition is OFF before performing repairs or part replacement.
- If working with the engine running, keep hands, hair and clothing away from moving parts.
- Secure loose clothing and remove jewelry before working on the vehicle.
- Wear eye protection.
- If running the engine in an enclosed area, provide proper ventilation for exhaust gases.
- Never work under the vehicle supported only by a jack — use safety stands.
- Because fuel lines remain under pressure, service should be performed by a NISSAN dealer.
- Keep flames and sparks away from fuel and the battery.
- On MFI gasoline engines, fuel filters and lines must be serviced only by professionals due to fuel pressure.
- The cooling fan may activate at any time — disconnect the negative battery cable before working nearby.
CAUTION
- Do not work under the hood while the engine is hot — wait until it cools.
- Avoid contact with used engine oil or coolant. Dispose of fluids properly according to local regulations.
- Do not disconnect CVT components or battery cables with the ignition ON.
- Never connect or disconnect any transistorized components while ignition is ON.
