WARNING

The following limitations apply to the Intelligent Blind Spot Intervention system. Failure to operate your vehicle in accordance with these limitations could result in serious injury or death.

• The I-BSI system cannot detect every vehicle under all driving conditions.
• The radar sensors may not activate the I-BSI system when certain objects are present, including:
  • Pedestrians, bicycles, or animals.
  • Motorcycles, very low vehicles, or vehicles with unusually high ground clearance.
  • Vehicles remaining in the detection zone when accelerating from a stop.
  • Oncoming traffic.
  • Vehicles merging into an adjacent lane at a similar speed to your own.
  • Vehicles approaching rapidly from behind.
  • Vehicles that you overtake quickly.
  • Vehicles that pass through the detection zone too quickly for the system to react.
• The detection zone is based on a standard lane width. In wider lanes, the system may fail to detect vehicles; in narrow lanes, it may detect vehicles two lanes away.
• The radar system generally ignores stationary objects, but items such as guardrails, walls, foliage, or parked vehicles may sometimes be detected. This is normal.
• The radar’s ability to identify nearby vehicles may be reduced under these conditions:
  • Severe weather conditions.
  • Road spray from other vehicles.
  • Ice, frost, or dirt buildup on the vehicle.
• Do not place stickers, transparent films, accessories, or additional paint near the radar sensors.
• The camera used by the system may not detect lane markers in the following situations:
  • Multiple parallel lane markings, unclear or faded lines, yellow lines, non-standard markings, or lanes covered by water, dirt, or snow.
  • Sections of roadway where old or discontinued markings are still visible.
  • Roads with sharp curves.
  • Areas with strong visual contrasts such as shadows, water, snow, wheel ruts, or patchwork surfaces.
  • Lanes that merge or split.
  • When the vehicle does not align properly with lane markings.
  • Driving close behind another vehicle that blocks the camera view.
  • Windshield contamination in front of the camera area.
  • Low headlight brightness due to dirt or improper aiming.
  • Direct exposure to strong light (for example, sunrise or sunset).
  • Sudden brightness changes (such as entering or exiting tunnels).
• Do not rely on the I-BSI system in the following situations because it may not operate as intended:
  • Rain, fog, snow, or other severe weather.
  • Slippery surfaces such as snow or ice.
  • Winding, uneven, or poorly maintained roads.
  • Road repairs or temporary lanes.
  • Roads with narrow lanes.
  • Driving on tires that are worn or improperly inflated, using a spare tire, chains, or non-standard wheel sizes.
  • Vehicles equipped with non-original steering, brake, or suspension components.
  • Towing a trailer or another vehicle.
• Loud interior noise (high audio volume, open windows, etc.) may prevent the driver from hearing system chimes.
