The Idling Stop System activates to reduce unnecessary fuel consumption, emissions and noise.
WARNING
If the vehicle begins to move at approximately 1 MPH (2 km/h) or more (for example, on a downhill grade) while the engine is stopped by the Idling Stop System, the engine will restart automatically. Depress the brake pedal immediately to stop the vehicle and prevent an accident.
CAUTION
Failure to do so may result in serious injury due to automatic engine restart.
NOTE:
The Idling Stop System on the Nissan Rogue will not activate under the following conditions:

The Idling Stop System may not activate if the Intelligent Key is not inside the vehicle and any door is opened or closed.
NOTE:
The engine will not restart, even if the brake pedal is released while the Idling Stop System is active, under the following conditions (although it may restart under other conditions):

In the following situations, it may take some time before the Idling Stop System begins operating on the Nissan Rogue:

When the Idling Stop System indicator light illuminates, the engine will automatically restart if at least one of the following conditions occurs:
(The steering may feel heavier at this time, but this is not a malfunction.)
NOTE:
The Idling Stop System may not activate if the Intelligent Key is not in the Nissan Rogue and you open or close any door.
NOTE:
The following condition prevents the Idling Stop System from automatically restarting the engine. In this case, the engine must be started manually using the ignition switch:
Use this system, for example, while waiting at a traffic light. When the vehicle will remain stopped for a long time, turn the engine off manually.
When the engine is stopped by the Idling Stop System, heating, cooling and dehumidifying functions are reduced or stopped. To keep full air conditioning performance in your Nissan Rogue, turn the Idling Stop System off by pressing the Idling Stop OFF switch.
Retrograde movement control function
